WWE Tables, Ladders and Chairs Preview
The WWE presents their latest PPV on Dec. 18, "Tables, Ladders and Chairs." Because there has not been a lot of time since the last PPV, there has been little in the way of build. Here is a look at who is fighting and what I expect to happen in 2011's final WWE pay-per-view.
Randy Orton takes on Wade Barrett as each man waits for their turn in the World Championship title picture. Barrett has been on a huge roll lately while Orton seems to just be drifting along with no real direction. The match is a table's match, and while Barrett needs the win more than Orton, I see Orton going over here. It is not a pinfall loss, so it shouldn't hurt Barrett.
Cody Rhodes is defending his Intercontinental title against Booker T. This is Booker's first real match back in the WWE so I don't know why it is for the title. Because it is for the title, Rhodes will win here and this might be Booker's try out to see if there is still something left for him to deliver.
Dolph Zigger defends his U.S. title against Zack Ryder and this is the match where Ryder finally wins the belt. I just hope that, when it is said and done, Ziggler moves on to the main event scene. But, wouldn't it be funny if Ziggler won, making John Cena's sacrifice meaningless?
Triple H takes on Kevin Nash in a sledgehammer match. This is a good match for Nash to fight in because it is with someone he knows well and they can tell a good story together. Triple H needs to win this to gain revenge but Nash needs to win more to keep the feud between the two moving.
MArk Henry takes on the Big Show in a chair's match for the World Championship. Mark Henry is the better choice to hold the title, so I think he should go over here. I said in an earlier article that I thought Kane would cost Big Show the title but I have heard he is moving to Raw. Maybe he does anyway, but Henry needs to win here and move on to someone else, maybe Sheamus.
The main event pits CM Punk in a WWE Championship defense against The Miz and Alberto Del Rio in a three-way TLC match. I see Punk keeping the belt here, thanks to a mishap between Miz and Del Rio but this might also lead into the mysterious 1-2-12 promos. I don't know if its Undertaker or Y2J, but it will be on Raw, so it will have something to do with the main event scene. Either way, Punk needs to keep rolling with the gold.
Author Shawn S. Lealos has been a professional wrestling fan since the rock and roll days of the 80s. Shawn watched all the promotions, but held an affinity for the more rugged ones in the Mid South and Dallas focused World Class regions. He still watches wrestling today, enjoying the WWE, TNA and ROH, watching all three on television weekly.
